A Liszt program
on: May 24, 2007, 11:32:52 PM
I am toying with the idea of doing a Liszt program this fall.  I am interested in your reaction:

EET 3
EET 8
EET 10
Liebestraum 3
Mephisto Waltz 1
***
Vallee d'Obermann
Consolation 2
Consolation 3
Hungarian Rhapsody 6

surprise assorment of transcriptions for encores.  Too long?
Money does not make happiness, but it can buy you a piano.  :)

Strange.
Well, I don't like all-Liszt recitals too much, but I like oldschool styles.

Etudes D'Execution Transcendante
---Intermission---
Beethoven Symphony #5
For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)

symphony #5 ?  of all the symphonies.  the liszt transcription - i suppose.  but,why the fifth.  might it seem that one was attempting to judge themselves too harshly.
