I never taught music before but I'm eager to do so. How do I get started ?

Hi,
I've been following piano lessons for 7 years now. Before that, I followed organ lessons for 9 years. So you could say I've been playing the keys for almost all my life.
I recently bought a house and a nice grand piano. Now I'm eager to give lessons myself.
Can you give me some advice on how to get started. What are the best teaching methods for teaching children and adults ? Are there any good resources like books that cover proper piano teaching ?
Like I said, I'm eager to start, but I also want to be very well prepared.
Thanks for your help,
Greets,
Alex.

Hi Alex
I was in the same position as you about 5 yrs ago, and I just jumped into it...
During that time, I finished up my college degree and conservatory diloma.
Let me tell you how I wish i would have done it.
I would have found the most experienced and gifted teacher in town, and asked if he was interested in a mentoring situation. It is enormously humbling, and difficult at times, but it is the way to go.
I got into this situation about two years ago, and immediately my teaching took on a whole new aspect. The difficult students became engaging challenges, and the gifted students were developed into thier true potential.
Get a mentor!!
