Help me with thesse notes please!
on: June 05, 2007, 08:18:27 PM
Hello, im new to the forum and never played a piano in my whole life. I allways wanted to but never had the time to learn. Anyways i heard a song this day, a song from one of my favorites oldschool games - Ultima Online - Main theme. And i wonder if someone have the notes or can write them down for me so that when i start to take my classes i got my favorite song to play =) THX!!! here is the song:

nobody is motivated anymore to write it all down by hand (unless someone on here is) - when software like 'notation' is available.  you just put in the mp3 and out comes the score.  i think that's what i've heard.  you might want to call some music stores and find out - but if you like to play unusual music for which you cannot find the scores - this would be the way to do it.

Lol where did you hear that? That would be "very helpful". I spent MONTHS writing down the scores of my program with a notation software and I have had all this in mp3. That's nothing but an unfortunately (well is it ACTUALLY unfortunate?) untrue legend. Nowhere I could find a program that writes scores from mp3's. I DID find one, okay, I bought it even. But that one delivers completely useless results. :P ;D

i guess  my husband is wrong for once in his life.  he was telling me that he heard there was a program out that did it.  i was thinking he said 'notation' or 'notion.'  but anyways - sorry if the info was wrong.  perhaps the old fashioned way is the only way still.

you could go into a uni theory department and see if any students need a 'project' to do and how they would go about doing it.

pianowolfi, which one did you buy?

I'd just like to say that Ultima Online is the best game ever.

The most I've heard a program can do to turn an audio recording into printed music is one or two lines simultaneously.

If there is something more, let me know.

One program was AudioScore I think.  But that's only one lines.

At some point, I used one.  I must have had a demo version.  I remember gave some notes of the melody (mess up notation of course) and some bass notes.  A few chords.  Stuff that was helpful, but I could have figured out myself pretty quick anyway.

Tempted, but she might not see the funny side.

I haven't tried it out myself but there are examples on the site.

It's a midi file, you can import it in a midi program which will visualize the notes. Here is a free program that can do that: https://www.noteworthysoftware.com/player/
