In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

to impress one's girlfriend?  the fact she was laughing made me uneasy.  if one could so easily chop off an octopus legs and laugh....  very sinister, i'd say.

Hmm. Maybe, but he could have done something else than eating an octupus couldn't he?

What could he do to surpass the octupus? ;D

if you are trying to impress the opposite sex - it is most likely best not to eat anything in front of them excepting maybe ice-cream.  why?  well, some food is just really unattractive to eat.  i cannot imagine chewing on octopus for 10 hours and impressing anyone.  and, in the end you'd have to spit it out.  how attractive is that?
