there are many varied ways to enjoy and play music. that's the beauty of it. the most enjoyable time pianists usually have - is when they are just messing around and not 'trying' that hard. you know - playing a tune while people are singing. that's easier than playing a recital - granted - but it's just nice to have the back up - and you get this really great feeling that you're both listening to each other and getting cues. he's a really great improviser.
