Hello piano beginners,

Just a word of encouragement that you are going to be great pianists. Don't give up and practice all of the time. Every time you practice you will see improvement.

Hmm... I thought it was funny!  It rather reminded me of the author Thomas Bernhard, when accepting a medal from his motherland, Austria: "The state of Austria has never missed an opportunity to urinate all over my head."

Bernhard pans his motherland and fellow citizens mercilessly in his many novels, and one really has to laugh out loud.  I recommend for humor: Gargoyles, Woodcutters, and Concrete (he writes a lot about Gould and Horowitz in this one, in a bizarre fantasy that Gould is a student of Horowitz in Salzburg).  For more serious fare, read his last book, Extinction, about normal citizens with blood on their hands from the Holocaust, or The Lime Works, about an insane married couple, the wife being held a prisoner in a converted lime mine.
