Concerning pieces
on: June 27, 2007, 11:45:27 PM
To start off, I would first like to say that I am in love with Pachbel's Canon........and any variation thereof....

Second, I am only an intermediate level piano player.........well, early intermediate.......

Finally, I hate almost all classical music..........my teacher says that classical is where you learn all the important techniques of playing..............

What I am trying to say is..........what are some good intermediate level peices that I may like.........I like mellow and relaxing music, and i also love a jazzy beat, but mellowness more so..........I would appreciate any suggestions

Thx
JP

Get a copy of the piano arrangement of the Gabriel Faure:  Pavanne. It was originally scored for flute and strings. The melody is a luscious hanunting type of tune with a harmonically diverse accompaniment.

Maybe try some Kieran Bailey... I remember learning Breezin', which is a pretty easy  jazzy song. Or maybe Twirling Fairy by Sonny Chua, if you can find it.
