things not to do at home
on: June 30, 2007, 08:01:37 AM
jay leno had a show tonight on 'things not to do at home.'  one guy made smores by lighting the marshmallow on the top of his shoe and flipping it up to the cracker he held between his teeth.  another cracked coconuts with his bare hands (although he said he would crack 12 and only cracked four).  and, another slapped himself in the stomach with a large rubber band.

are there any cautions from any of you of 'things not to do at home?'

Watching American shows about things not to do at home would probably top my list of things not to do at home (or anywhere else, for that matter)...

what?  of things not to do at home?  yes.  i tried telling that to my husband.  'we should do it in an elevator some time.'

i suppose lighting fireworks that flip and roll around would be another option.  just using the fire extinguisher can be something one should not try at home.  i remember back home we had a small kitchen fire and the diningroom drapes had to be taken to the cleaners.  the firemen came and simply disconnected the oven and took it outside.

I saw that one, I like when Leno's checking the coconuts - "these things are solid", tosses it on the ground and it cracks in half ;D

One thing not to do at home is put on some soup and then go to sleep.

yes.  i forgot to mention that part.  it made the audience start laughing because the guy looked so intense and serious.  then, despite the laughter - he continues to pretend it is his own brute strength.

about the soup - that's funny but serious.  or a bagel in the morning that gets stuck in the toaster on it's way up - and you come over and start using a knife and then remember that you'd better unplug it.

No joke...I know a guy who, in a drunken, delusional state, decided he wanted to melt some provolone cheese slices by sticking an entire pack, unopened in its plastic wrapper, into a microwave and setting it to 30 (!) minutes. :o I need not tell the result when his wife walked in finding him asleep on the couch with already 17 minutes gone by allowing burning morphed plastic-cheese to hurl smoke through the house. :-X

^So don't try that at home!
This is one reason why I choose not to drink ::)

with the wrappers still on?  could be some kind of cancer causing stuff after that one.  i once left the cardboard under a pizza i put into the oven.  i couldn't figure out why it was burning at the 6 minute  mark.

i tend not to drink and cook.  although, i've made chili and poured beer into it.  but, usually, it is best not to drink and cook.

my daughter has been leaving her hair dryer plugged in near the sink.

---don't spread flour over your laptop keyboard while making pizza dough.
---don't screw on your bicycle in the kitchen, these smudges on the floor may never go   away again
never ever water cactusses, they may never bloom (okay this one is slightly exaggerated)
---never confuse the tabasco bottle with your eye drops

Start an argument. with people you live with, start an argument with your neighbour, invite people you dont like over, and finally spend to much time on the net.

Do not pee on the stove.  (Some idiot actually did this at a friends house!)
