Free Horowitz/Carmen video
on: June 30, 2007, 10:43:34 AM
https://www.thepianostudio.co.uk/

Me teacher (Richard Meyrick) has got a new website.

If you click on "finger workouts" and scroll down, you can download a quality vid of him playing Horowitz/Carmen variations with some "fury".

He is undoubtedly grateful for everything i taught him ;D

Enjoy.

Don't understand old chap, it works for me.

The download is right at the bottom of the finger work out page.

after that, you can visit the 'pianists field hospital' for losing 6 pounds and not even knowing it.
btw, i downloaded the 'toreador' song the other day.  just for fun.  inbetween sousa marches for the fourth of july.

I don't think the field hospital is for losing weight my little North American Nutcase.

Has your teacher gotta website?

www.carlcranmer.com  or something like that.  he probably just came back from moscow where he was performing the barber concerto.  i e-mailed him last night.  the 20th e-mail to get unresponded to.  he responds to about one in twenty.  he's having a baby in july so that might explain why he 'schedule' is still 2006 (or was until lately - if he's updated).  yes - i check on it - but look around to see if my husband is watching.  he's the only man within a 60 mile radius that i would seriously have problems knowing what next to do if i couldn't ask him what he did?  of course, what i do at 46 would be equal to what he did at 10 ...but it still doesn't bother me.  i would still be his #1 fan if he smushed raisins into my piano.

He looks a bit like Sting to me.

My teacher has never played the Barber Concerto but he has played the Sonata & only last year i think.

He always responds to my e mails, but perhaps mine are less then your overage 30 pages ;D

Sounds like Carl is too busy to give lessons as well :'(

oh.  he's not too busy.  in fact, i think he's open to more students.  i don't have the money at this point.  thus, the sad state of affairs of begging in e-mails to barter baby advice for them.  no-go at this point.  he needs the money.  i understand that.  it's just that i am going crazy without piano lessons.

i never write 30 pages to him.  basically, just keeping him alerted to the fact that i am still alive and wanting referrals of places to play and if he would consider helping me achieve my goal of being a concert pianist - while attempting to survive and pay the remaining bills on braces, groceries, and assundry items that kids need (like mall shopping before school).  i suppose that it's unrealistic to make all this money from performing piano solos/recitals.  but, it's what i like to do.  practice and play.

his baby is going to be a cutie bug.

Sadly i feel that is true and then the money would not be regular.

It aint gonna make you rich.

taking organ lessons would be just another drain on the finances.  happy vs making money i guess.  not that i don't like working - just that i majored in piano performance.  i'd like to perform.

oh. yeah.  right.  this is worse than 'work at home doing things you love.'  scams are easy to see now at my age.

i've seen him play it - this is like finding something that you could get on u-tube - but going through 5 channels to find it.  i like your teacher though.  subliminal advertising here.

have you heard leonard bernstein conduct candide with the la philharmonic.  that's really wild, too.  and quite beautiful.

unfortunately, only heard it on the radio.  it was eye opening.  i was wondering the entire time who was conducting because it sounded more energetic than the usual.
