HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of today's most intelligent composers. Regardless of his music's aesthetic appeal, it is superbly crafted...something that is quite rare. Even more admirable than this is his knack for pedagogy; he has some of the most innovative teaching methods known to me.

Again, cheers to a fabulous composer, and all-around musician.

Asked if he had ever conducted any Stockhausen,Sir Thomas Beecham replied, "No, but I once trod in some."

can you tell us more about him.  the name rings a sort of bell - but it's not any more than 'belkins music.'
