What Are You Working On This Summer?
on: July 11, 2007, 03:26:39 PM
Hi,
this is mainly directed at those who are at college or some form of education and have the Summer holidays, but also to others who have jobs which allow this long period of free time.
As I have now had my last lesson of the term I am thinking of investing my time wisely this summer and getting some extra peices learned, along with my set peices from lessons to generally imrpove my playing and sight reading etc. For instance I am going to try;

-Chopin Etudes, 10 12* +10 4,
-Chopin - Raindrop prelude *
-Chopin - FI*
-Rachmaninoff Prelude in C# minor *
-Debussy - Arabesque No.1 ~
-Reinhold Impromptu. ~

I won't be doing all of these but it is a shortlist of some to start ets, it is very optimistic as some of these peices are just above my current level but I enjoy the challenge and generally find it more staisfying when you have pushed yourself.
I am also planing to try and get through as much of 'Tonal Harmony' as possible and improve my theory in that way.
I realise that some of you will have summer lessons but I was just wondering if anyone else was or always has done this, and what kind of stuff they like to work on.

Reflets dans l'eau from the first book of Images, or Soiree Dans Grenade from Estampes.
