The Prodigy Who Saw Into the Future – Lili Boulanger’s Piano Music

A teenage girl with forward-looking ideas, Lili Boulanger had enough determination to successfully navigate the competitive, patriarchal, and conservative music scene of Paris. Despite a constant fight against illness, she achieved great mastery as a composer, and left behind a significant catalog of works characterized by intense emotional depth, in a sophisticated, post-Romantic, Impressionist style. Help me identify this piece
on: July 29, 2007, 05:30:07 AM
I need some help identifing this piece of music. I'm guessing it's Chopin or Liszt.

I came up with some notes, Im going to guess that it is in E-flat minor. Here's the melody.

Brackets = Eight notes
[B-flat, B-flat] G-flat [B-flat, B-flat] F [B-flat, A-flat, B-flat, A-flat, B-flat, G-flat] [B-flat B-flat] G-flat {F, E-flat] [D, F, D, F, E-flat]

I saw it in a documentary about Maria Joao Pires. One of the students there was playing it.

well, I can't really record anything....

but it you play that on a keyboard it should sound really familiar.

Im posotive now that it's in e-flat minor. Im just not so sure about the composer.

I found the score, it's called D946, Drei Klavierstücke nr 1 in Eb minor, Franz Schubert, and here I recorded the first 8 bars, so see if you recognize it.
