Feeling down...
on: August 01, 2007, 04:20:28 AM
When i first started piano 2 years ago, I loved practicing and couldn't go a day happy without playing.  I don't know why, but lately I just dont feel like practicing anymore.   Sometimes I make excuses just so I won't feel bad not practice (my classic: "oh well, I can just do it tomorrow")...

I'm concious of the fact that if I don't practice then nothing is absorbed...but I still want to learn more and only have a couple of years till college...yikes!

I need advice!!!
Please and Thank You
workin on:
Liszt Ballade no. 1
Beethoven Pathetique op.13
Rachmaninoff Prelude op31 no11
Bach WTC book I
Ravel concerto in G and 3 others

Hi,

you play piano since 2 years and you are studying Ravel Concerto?  :o
Perhaps your pieces are your problem. How about some nice Scarlatti Sonatas...?
If it doesn't work - try something different!

maybe you've pushed yourself too hard...
try taking a break for 2-3 days and just listen to music
J.S Bach Italian Concerto,Beethoven Sonata op.2 no.2,Mozart Sonatas K.330&333,Chopin Scherzo no.2,Etude op.10 no.12&Fantasie Impromptu

  ;D LOL  ;D
btw scarlatti wrote 155 sonatas (I think) and if I did learnt all of them then that'll b roughly 2.35 sonatas per day  ;D

You beat me m1469!

Ok, I'll add the math then:

555/365 = 1.52 sonatas per day

 ;D

  ;D LOL  ;D

hic, your math is backwards... check this out:

155/365 = 0.42 sonatas per day

365/155 = 2.35 days per sonata (not sonatas per day)

 :o whoa, 555 I didn't know he was that bored  ;D
so ok fine 1.52 per day but i never learnt them all...(only 8 so I didn't have to learn 1.52 everyday) lol :P

PS: jlh, my math isn't backwards ( I think of it as my unit is backwards)
365/155 = 2.3548387 days on each sonata ;)

....and u beat me by a few seconds
