Hi,

I will really appreciate if you can advise me how much you pay for YUS1 or U1.
After playing many pianos, I think either U1 or YUS1 is a good piano for the monies.
But I just want to make sure that I will not be ripped off my piano salesmen. Lately, I dealt with a piano salesman whom I really believe like to rip people off. Fortunately, there are several Yamaha dealer in my area.

About 14 years ago, a friend of mine who owned a Yamaha Music School told me that she bought U1 directly from Yamaha for about $2.7K. Note, however, that this the cost. It is impossible for us to get that price. Therefore, I think today's should be around $5,500 or $6,000 the most for U1.

Thanks!!

Yesterday, I went to a Yamaha dealer in the Chicago area (DuPage County).
They offered me at $6,000. No negotiation yet....
Therefore, I can expect the price can go down as low as $5,500.

It is great having this piano forum so that we will not pay too much!!

The other Yamaha dealer in the Northwest suburb of Chicago is asking for $7,500 for U1 and $9K for the new YUS1. He thinks people still live in the dark ages where we cannot find info. I will definitely not buy from him.
