What type of yamaha is this?
on: August 06, 2007, 09:24:05 AM
Hello
I would like to know which type of Yahama piano this is.
When I look at
https://www.yamaha-europe.com/yamaha_europe/uk/10_musical_instruments/10_pianos/20_pianos/20_upright_pianos/index.html
I think it's neither a B or P, but might be a U or YUS. I'm not sure though.
Any specialists here?

This is an old U1. Between 1991 to about 1999.
The U1 before 1991 has wide pedal.
The U1 between 1991 thru about 1999 has narrower pedal
The U1 after 2000 has different shape...In addition, the latest U1 has very long book stand.
Just go look at Yamaha web site for the latest U1.
For sure not a YUS1, because the book stand in the picture is short.
YUS1 is an over priced piano. You'd better off buying U1.
Most people cannot discern the difference between U1 and YUS1.
The latest U1 PE only cost about $6000, while YUS1 is about 8K. I tried U1 and YUS1, and could not tell the difference in terms of sound. However, I like the look of YUS1.
