The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

HELP---Kawai K5 or Yamaha U1 (I am about to buy)
on: August 07, 2007, 02:40:37 AM
All,

I am going to buy either Yamaha U1 ($6,000, I think I may not get better price than this) or Kawai K5 ($5,800, I still think I can get less than $5,800. This is just the opening price).

I tried both of them. The Kawai was not prepared, therefore, it is hard for me to tell how good the sound is. The action is about the same as Yamaha U1 or U3. The Yamaha that I tried last Sunday sounded like a glass, but in other store the U1 sounds wonderful. Is it just because the environment or there are some ugly sounding U1. I tried man U1 and they sound wonderful. I just cannot try many K5 because there is only one Kawai delear in the Chicago area.
