Interesting...
on: August 09, 2007, 02:15:59 AM
Does anyone have anything interesting to say about music? Is anyone else sick of meaningless comparison threads? What about those annoying repertoire threads where everyone pretends to have played more than they really have? Why have I never seen a thread akin to "Chopin's Mazurkas: Such original and powerful endings"?

Asked if he had ever conducted any Stockhausen,Sir Thomas Beecham replied, "No, but I once trod in some."

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying, but you're certainly right if you mean that the music itself is more valuable than anything we can say about it. This, however, doesn't mean that noticing certain things in it won't enrich our experience. As a composer and a lover of music, it is always fascinating to discover how a certain composer achieved a particularly striking effect.

How is it, if you play together with others? Chamber music, accompanging singers etc.?
For me, that's much more "comfortable" than playing solo.

Well, you see...I'm not kind of girl that will just give up,I'm having a psyhological tretmant, because PIANO is my everything, and I would never give up,and I will no't....
I realy don't see my self as a chamber music performer, because I'm that kind of person,I don't like it,and you will have to say that PIANO is the instrument that is harmony...and violins,cello's.....

Piano Street Magazine:
Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
