This is driving me nuts
on: August 11, 2007, 04:34:43 AM
Hello. I am not a piano player but hopefully you can appreciate that I am a classical music enthusiaist. I have been trying to figure out the name of a piano piece now for hours and I can not remember it for the life of me.

I believe the title of it when translated has to do with Bells and I could have sworn the piece was called The Little Bells or something of the sort..as the piece progresses it sounds like raindrops as the pianist layers the melody over and over, and he is making this effect with very high keys.

I sound ridiculous I know I am sorry but Im sure some of you are familiar enough with this piece to have some kind of idea what Im talking about.

Someone please stop my insanity.

Sounds like "La Campanella" by Franz Liszt:

Yes I agree that is exactly the piece.  It translates to "the little bell."

Chances are that it IS La Campanella

Good job for posting Yundi's version of it. I love his way of playing it, how he keeps this piece alive all the way through.

One thing I don't get is, how every pianist always messes up the ending, every time! How they hit extra keys etc..
Bach - Partita No.2
Scriabin - Etude 8/12
Debussy - L'isle Joyeuse
Liszt - Un Sospiro

Goal:
Prokofiev - Toccata
