Taking grade 1
on: August 16, 2007, 09:45:01 PM
I'm 13 years old and started playing the piano last year. I will be taking grade 1 this easter, but am worried what is required. I can play peices like Menuet by Bach, Fur Elise, canon, but it took me quite a while and my I haven't practiced my dynamics as I only have a keyboard, I practice at school once a week with a teacher on the piano.
What do you have to do in grade one? And what must be done to pass? Thank you very much.

Don't worry in silence, ask your teacher! If s/he's putting you in for the grade you should be getting the proper preparation for aurals, scales and sightreading as well as the pieces. Also the links Pianowolfi gave will lead you to the Viva piano and student forums where you will find tons of info and support. Good luck with your playing!
