Guitar Hero

Does anyone here play it, and how good are you?  I would think pianists would have an advantage as far as rhythm and finger dexterity goes.

Will you be my guitar?
Asked if he had ever conducted any Stockhausen,Sir Thomas Beecham replied, "No, but I once trod in some."

or

Not unless you finger me; I don't do tapping ;)

or

Are you going to play me with your tongue? ;)

or

Will you use the distortion pedal?  ;)

Wait... forget that last one ???

Anyway, I think we ruined this thread =/

Ah cool I have the 80's version but have only played it once :P  Just went through the career.  Beat most of the stuff 1st try (what is with that solo in the Limozeen song?!?  Second tier my ass lol) although I got stuck on the Judas Priest because I normally play with hyperspeed on XD  The riffs after the solo were so squished to what I'm used to seeing they screwed me up.  Turned hyperspeed on and beat it 1st try along with the Extreme song.  Am concentrating on GH2 atm; don't wanna spread my guitar heroism too thin ;)  Uh, on expert still need to 5 star:

Freya
Rock this Town (pretty close on this one)
Carry me Home
Psychobilly Freakout
Misirlou
Beast and the Harlot
Hangar 18 (and this one)

Misirlou and Beast and the Harlot are still 3-stars :-[  Have a few 100%'s and FC's here and there, mostly in the extra songs though.  Have 5-star on all of them except Six, Jordan, the Shadows Fall song and the Broken Wheel song.  Gemini, Last Child and Institutionalized are probably my best songs ;D

Haha true, the limozeen solo is more wicked then jordan at double speed.

5-starring stuff is easy, the thing that decides it is the multiplyer rating, wich has to be 2.8x or higher, so go for long streaks, use the SP to get 8x as much as possible (that means pwn the easy parts, and do enough to get through the solos) and youll make it. The one i struggled longest with on GH2 was Six, but as soon as i realized i just had to learn the refrain part, it was a piece of cake.

Only a few months now until GH3 comes out, and there will be some kick ass new songs  8)

Ahahaha easier said than done, for me at least XD  I've only had the game for about 6 weeks and I don't get to play very much; maybe like 5 or 6 hours a week :(.  You saying to me to hit lots of notes in a row would be like, if you asked me how to play some impossible piece by Finnissy, and I told you "hit all the right keys" ;)  Now if you wanna give me some specific advice on uh, Beast and the Harlot, Misirlou, the weird 2nds in Carry me Home or on Psychobilly freakout that would be useful though ^^;  Not really worried about 5-starring Six and Jordan; I don't have the free time :P

Embarassing - I'm not very good at that game despite years and years of playing guitar.  Mind, I've only played the game once.

I have some friends who're pretty good at it.  All the tme they put in practicing this game I figure they should just suck it up and learn to play an actual guitar.

FIGHT YOUR DEMONS!
For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)

I'm currently on GH3. Working on perfecting "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" on Hard. I've been told that that song is actually harder than Fire and Flames. Is it true? I've only even touched TTFAF on Medium.
