WOW!  Thank you for that. 

Finally an answer about Gould's personal life.  I've wondered for so long.  Unfortunately, it confirms my opinion that, while I love him, he was indeed a jerk.

"It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all".  Gould stayed true to his art inspite of loss.  I would like to do the same.
