Playing songs without using melody?
on: August 30, 2007, 08:20:47 AM
Hi everybody!
It's the second time i post so i'm new at this forum. I think it's very interesting. As i mentioned at the last post i play the piano for some years. I have a large amount of sheet music of pop rock music (pieces that i like). However, these pieces have only the melody and the bass on the left hand. I see alot of pianists playing songs with an alternative way without using the melody so much. I am wondering how they do this. Could anybody explain that to me? There is a website with free sheet music of that kind?
Kind regards,
nick the greek

I think you mean bass/chords, which is pretty much what it sounds like: a bass line with the left hand and chords with the right. That's what most pop keyboardists do.
