Clavinova needs to be elavated?
on: September 03, 2007, 09:57:36 AM
I noticed after using a few acoustic pianos that they all seem to be higher than my digital clavinova. Im guessing the reason for this is because they are all on wheels.

The thing is they all feel more comfortable to play on then my clavinova, which leaves my legs feeling cramped due to my seat being lower.

There pedals are also higher up off the ground.

Am i supposed to lift my clavinova and inch or two off the gorund?

Whats the best way to do that, use boards or something or is there a more aesthetic way of doing it?

Careful, the pedals on some of these digitals are a little high for me as it is.  If you get the pedasl too high it seems fatiguing to use them.

Maybe measure the height of a grand you like and apply the difference to the clavinova.  Try some block of 1 X 4's and shimms.  Play for a few days and adjust accordingly.  When you are satisfied, glue the blocks and shimms together and paint.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
