Kawai (versus Yamaha) digital
on: September 11, 2007, 07:15:36 PM
Hi all.  First time poster here.   I've been reading the instrument threads and have seen a lot of discussion of the Yamaha CLP270, but nothing on the Kawai CA71 or CA91.  I am looking for a new digital piano (I don’t have space for an acoustic) for my son and I to learn on.  Has anyone used the CA71 or CA91?  I like the idea of the 91 having a sound board and was wondering if it affects the sound.  Has anyone compared the Kawais to the Yamahas for sound and touch?  Are there any professional reviews around?  Thanks in advance for any comments.

I had a Kawai digital, a couple generations older and loved it.  I gave it to a close friend who didn't have an instrument and he is loving it too.

I have played the model one generation older and found it excellent for the price and for a digital.  I have not tried this generation.

Yamaha digitals I don't care so much for, plus for comparable models I understand they are more expensive.

If you want unexpensive, include Williams in your list.  That's the digital I now have and it is entirely serviceable.  Nice for playing after hours.
Money does not make happiness, but it can buy you a piano.  :)
