But why do they always show past disasters on the day they happened?
Yet again we have just past the 11th of September (9/11) and yet again we see the same programmes on T.V showing us that day in America. But why do they always show past disasters on the day they happened?I agree and sympathise with those who lost loved ones and the firefighters that died but every single year they show us the same footage, nothing new. Not only is it the 11th of September footage but other disasters like Krakatoa erupting or President J.F Kennedy being shot or the sinking of Titanic. There is no need to constantly remind us all of these disasters! Does anyone else agree with me here? Shouldn't T.V just show these things rarely instead of constantly? I don't know if this happens anywhere else in the world but it does in Britain.G.W.K
The cynical side of me says we need to keep reminding the public why we are at war with Iraq and Afghanistan. Also, it would be a bit insensitive to the families to say "enough is enough". I'd still prefer to watch a true disaster documentary over those crappy brainless reality shows like Big Brother. They are a true atrocity. Showing them only once a year is too much.

GreetingsAmericans, and most of the people of the world actually, have a nasty habit of forgetting things. How many movies do you remember being advertised last year constantly on television, and how many of those movies do you remember? If the media doesn't reinforce matters that are important, most people will simply forget that those maters exist, and continue to live in their own cloister of ignorance. Mass political change is only possible when a majority of people share a common thought and a common desire for better things; having masses, who by the way are already intoxicated by shows like "Big Brother," completely reject the political events will only be detrimental to the slim possibility that humans may actually do something about the situation and possibly better their lives.
