Car prizes!
on: September 20, 2007, 07:50:56 AM
Let us say a brand new BMW 520 dt.
In Norway this car costs about 570 000 kr, or 103 000 USD.
How much does it cost in anyone else's country? Norway's expensive.

i see one advt. for $50,000 here.  perhaps you are talking about something more expensive than a BMW 528.  perhaps working at a dealership would get you a better discount?

is this a prize for some kind of drawing?

BMW's don't stop with the cost of purchase.  you also have to consider the cost of replacing parts.  one part alone would make me think twice about purchase - although my son also likes the idea of a fine car.  to me - i think homes are what one should invest in.  cars can be wrecked in a day.  as i see it - hondas are a nice median price and reliable.  although i wish that they had deeper cup holders.  whenever we put water bottles in the cup holders - they fall out and dive for the driver's pedal area.

can you get your parents to buy the car - and then use it?

Drawing!? :o

Hehe. No this is real car on a norwegian website. www.finn.no/bil. The car's got 177 HP.
I'm not really interesting (and I would not have the money) to buy this. But I'm wondering
how much it does cost in other countries, because i know that cars, generally, are very expensive in Norway. In what country does it cost 50 000?

This unexciting heap of German crap would cost about £24,000 in the UK.

Reliable, but boring as hell.

homes are less easy to break into and steal the entire thing.  you can improve their value (cars only diminish in value from purchase time).  granted - the housing market is losing steam or has lost steam from last year to this.  but, the thing is that investments are long-term ideas and not for short term profit necessarily.

i'd just buy whatever got me from A to B and had the most gas mileage.  parts on hondas aren't inexpensive either, i've found.  best to get the extended warranty as it pays for itself !

never owned a BMW.  they look nice, though.  maybe when you drive them they become like fine pianos and hard to let go of.  i try not to get into cars that i might want.

Crap, that's below half the price... So what's a real car thalbergmad? Here's one you'd like I THINK https://www.dodge.com/en/2008/viper/

But that's totally expensive...
