Sultanov Live in Japan?
on: September 24, 2007, 11:49:03 PM
Has anyone heard this yet? I just bought it and have only had a chance to listen to the Scriabin and Rachmaninoff, but WOW! I've never heard a more intense interpretation of Rachmaninoff's Sonata No.2. Here's a link with further info:

This CD certainly underscores the tragic loss of this fine artist.

notice the Liszt sonata textual emendations at the end of the fugato/beginning of the b minor recapitulation.
For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)
