Best Easy Piano Arrangement - Linus and Lucy?
on: September 19, 2002, 07:35:33 PM
Hi Folks,

I am new here and more than a little bit rusty with my mostly self-taught piano skills.   I used to be able to master an "easy piano" arrangement of most music and have ordered a new piece of music to get things started.  I always wanted to learn the Vince Guaraldi piece, "Linus and Lucy," and I am waiting for an easy version by Bill Boyd.  I have noticed that there are about 3 different easy versions of "Linus and Lucy" available, and I used to, about 26 years ago, buy both the standard and easy arrangements and sort of "beef up" the easy arrangement.  I was in college at the time and had a few musical friends give me a little advice here and there.  My question is this:  Who offers the best easy piano arrangement of  the "Linus and Lucy" piece?  Brimhall? Boyd?   I used to like most of the Brimhall arrangements, but sometimes they were too watered down.   Many thanks to everyone here for your time!
Look forward to some advice!!!!  Take care, Joe.

Hi Folks,

Well I was hoping someone out there had already solved the problem of finding a good, but easy, arrangement of "Linus and Lucy," so at least I will share what I have learned so far for anyone in my situation.  I have the 'easy piano' book of Vince Gerald's work arranged by Bill Boyd, "Charlie Brown's Greatest Hits" and I am about to compare the easy version of L & L to the standard arrangement once it arrives.  I feel that the characteristic accompaniment is too simple in this easy arrangement.  Although this arrangement is still a challenge for me, it throws me off a little when I can't achieve that signature bass part.  Any suggestions are welcomed, (and needed).

    Take care, Joe.
