Why is Chris Crocker so famous?

This guy has been on Jimmy Kimmel live, Fox News, ABC news, Maury Povich (sp?) and all over the place.  He's an overnight celebrity and has enough youtube subscriptions to put him near the top of everyone.  How is this possible?  What is so special about his tearful plea to leave Britney alone?

People dislike Britney=Britney lovers cause controversy.

And according to a female friend, as if that's not enough fame for him, he's now got nude photos surfaced.
