Stravinsky's...

Piano Sonata in F sharp minor (1903).
Greatest neglected sonata? I know some of you are going to say "oh ive heard of it, its not neglected" but what i mean is that it deserves a lot more attention than it gets. the 1st mvt is absolutely amazing

I have never heard this Sonata. Could you recommend any recordings?

I've never been fond of this sonata. It's mostly a student work, even if written at a relatively late age (Stravinsky was a bit of a late bloomer).
I haven't heard all of his piano works but so far my favored is the sonatina from 1924. It's like Bach's Italian Concerto on steroids. A great piece, though not as impressive as Bartok's similar effort from 1926.

You can buy Stravinsky's complete piano works on EMI by Michel Béroff. Allegedly complete... not everything is there, but all the major works for piano and for piano and orchestra are there. I'm fond of the serenade myself; don't care for the sonatas. The rag music is pretty good too...
Béroff's playing is dry but gives you an idea what the music sounds like.

Martin Jones is a great alternative to Béroff if you don't want such a dry interpretation.

I thought it was pretty pedestrian.

I believe Andor Foldes has recorded this as well...
