Darn, I was close...

I got the Mendelsohhn and the Bride idea right...

It does help if you've heard of the piece of course. :D

Thalberg:

Not sure about the title of the first one...

Handel - Messiah

Korngold - Violin Concerto
Belles journées, souris du temps,

Thal - Beethoven Grosse Fugue

I had to do a bit of googling on that, I hope it isn't illegal.  :-\

Well done  ;D

I could not see the 144 as a Gross. Very good Thalberg.  8)

I didn't until I googled "beethoven Fugue"

I saw Grosse appear several times, but it took me those several time to think: "hang on...another name for 144 is a grosse"

Then I wonder why I didn't realise it earlier

Ram and pianochick---

Glad you liked it.  I had to use 144 because you wouldn't believe what came up when I googled gross!!!  It was disgusting.  Don't do it.

Also had a hard time with Toe---seems the only photos are of diseased toes.  That was the healthiest foot I could find.

As before, the first line is the composer, the second is the work. Because the initial piece i thought of is quite obscure (I've actually never heard it) I added another work, corresponding to the two last pictures, to make it a little easier.

Erich Wolfgang Korngold - Der Ring des Polykrates

Now if only I knew the second one. It is also by Korngold, correct?

Correct. And in retrospect i suppose the second work might be as obscure as the first one...  :)

Heh, yeah, it's a toughie. As much as I love Korngold, I just can't think about what the second one would be based on these clues.

I can help a little and say that it is an extract from a very early work of his. Quite a nice work for an eleven-year-old!

That really clears things up now. I couldn't place where to put the first picture.

Erich Wolfgang Korngold - Der Schneemann - Serenade

Those two pieces might have been a bit harsh, heh.

He wrote a piece with "polykrates" in the title???
What possessed him when he thought of that? Or does Polykrates mean something else in German?

Here are a few. The first is easy. The second is a really hard one (in terms of obscurity).

The easy one:

composer (last name):

work:

The hard one:

composer (last name):

work:

Good luck! The second one will require it, especially.

Ravel Rhapsodie Espagnole is correct for the first. The second is incorrect. It is not Chopin.

I'll just say that the composer of my piece has been quite popular in this game thus far. Don't read too much into the 'fire of London' painting. Just think about what it is. Translate that into German and you have the name of the piece.

Right, so you meant yes :D and thus it's Korngold - Die Tote Stadt?

Item 1:  Fellini 8 1/2 with the "8" scratched out, therefore 1/2
Item 2: yo-yo

one-half of a yo-yo is just "yo"

Item 3: famous depiction of Attila the Hun; extract "Hun"

Yo-Hun ---> Johann

Item 4: stirrup
Item 5: oust

phonetic combination: stirrupoust ---> stirroust ---> strauss

---> Johann Strauss

Item 6: June Bug; extract "June"
Item 7: Calendar, extract logical "year"

Phonetic combination: juneyear ---> Junior

---> Johann Strauss Jr. (composer)

Item 8: King DeDeDe; obviously extract "De"

De ---> Die

Item 10 (skipping balloon): Error screen

Die ___er____

Item 11: mouse

Die ___ermaus

Now, if you are familiar with the piece, should be obvious:

Johann Strauss Jr. "Die Fladermaus"  (balloon, inflated; extract "flate", phonetic transmutation to "flade")
