How hard is it?
on: October 27, 2007, 06:12:08 PM
I've been playing piano for about a year now. I don't have an actual piano tutor. In school you can take an extra piano lesson and I did. So it's around a 20 minutes individual lesson per week.
I will be taking grade 1 this easter and have decided to play 'Allegro in F' and 'Andante'. Havn't decided on the other one yet. My scales, broken chords and arpeggios are ok. I'm currently practicing on a keyboard which doens't do dynamics. I will be getting a digital piano by christmas.
I was wondering how hard will it be to get a good mark in grade 1? When doing scales if you dont stress the strong beat how much marks will it take away? When playing a piece, if your dynamics arn't sharp will you miss out on alot of marks.
I'm really nervous and just want to know how the marks are spread out.
Does anyone know?  :(
Thanks for your help  :)

She did do quite well.

But, when she came out of her exam she started to cry because she thought she'd messed it up.

So don't worry, enjoy.  ;D
Thank you and Goodnight.
