Have you ever experienced the violence and insanity that goes along with this particular splinter of reality?

No.

If I drink too much (rare now, but as a college student it was different) I say stupid things I regret later, spill stuff on the rug, etc.

But I could drink to stupor without ever having a violent urge.  I know for some people drinking and violence go together but I've never experienced anything like it.  Impaired judgement, yes, but anger no.

Some of this is cultural.  Americans fight when they're drunk, Germans don't for the most part.

People who have suppressed aggressions will let them out when drunk.

That's not a question of nationality.
If it doesn't work - try something different!

Indeed.

Again this year, i am looking forward to getting drunk on Christmas Eve and singing "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" outside the Guru Nanak Temple.

You grow horns? :o You are a miracle.

On a sidenote, I don't drink, and certainly do try to avoid any sort of calamities.
