Fundamentals of Piano Practice
on: November 05, 2007, 01:32:15 AM
can now be purchased at Amazon.com!  I worked for over a year to update the entire book, and also found out that Booksurge (a division of Amazon) can print the book cheaper than I can at Kinko's.  I was printing it as a favor to those who needed printed copies, but it was costing me more than I had thought, and shipping it via USPS (cheapest option) was a real hassle, since the book is just the right weight to come under suspicion as a bomb!  The cost of publishing via Booksurge is amazingly affordable (they will get your ISBN numbers, bar codes, etc); this is progress!

Thanks, CC,

I have enjoyed reading your book and applying it and some of it has been of exceptional help towards my improvement as a pianist.

Many thanks for your efforts,
FD :)

Very Very good book on piano practice! It has improved my piano playing! If you create a DVD that demonstrate some of the exercises like the "parallel sets" in the book, that would be even better! Keep up the good work!

It should be available in any bookstore, because it has an ISBN number and publisher, Booksurge (if not, let me know why).  Right now, there seems to be a glitch in Amazon, so if you type in "Fundamentals of Piano Practice", my book does not come up (it did couple of days ago) -- we are still in the process of uploading info on the book. But it will come up if you type in the ISBN number: ISBN1419678590

I checked with the publisher and they said that you need to use the ISBN# (see above) for another week or so until Amazon completes its "publication procedures"; then you will be able to search by title and author.

What's this .co.uk?

He means amazon.co.uk, the british amazon website. Any idea if your book will appear also on amazon.de anytime soon?

Thanks for making this book available. I usually never pay for things when I can help it, but reading through, I'm finding more and more interesting things (outside of the piano practice methods), and makes me want the print version.

One question, what's the last update on the published version?

The published version date is Aug. 28, 2007 (our wedding anniversary, but I made a mistake and put only 2007 in the book itself).  I'll check with BookSurge, the publisher about listing on international Amazon sites; I had assumed that it automatically appeared in all Amazon sites -- thx for the headsup. An identical version (to the book) can be downloaded at the link below, and clicking "simple PDF" version.  The MS Word version, and links under Table of Contents are all up to date.  The most useful addition to the book is an extensive Index, which is useful because the book is now so large that it is difficult to find anything.

If anyone wants to write a review of my book on Amazon, would be appreciated :)))))).

Interesting notes: the international translations are progressing nicely, tho slow.  There are 8 translators working on the Chinese translation! There were numerous volunteers for Bangladesh, Iranian, and other unexpected countries, but most of them ended up giving up -- after a few pages, they tend to find that the material is too difficult to translate.  There were over 10 volunteers for Spanish, but none of them have succeeded.  This seems to indicate that I wrote something very few others could have done.
