I would think about a grade 7?

It isn't that hard but bringing out the melody in both the left and right hand at different times is a little hardand confusing.

I would say grade 6 AMEB, which I think is about grade 7 everyone else's system.

Don't know the grade, but love playing the piece.  8)

Watch out for the cross-rhythms.  ;)

Yes, but great fun.
And when you get it right it sounds fantastic.  ;D ;D ;D

I love that piece to death. You're right about the cross rhythms, they're the key to it. You can get lost forever playing that piece, it kind of sweeps through you.

I also like others in the collection, especially the Fling.

I mean to post it when I have the software and the connections and the time.

oh, I think it's about 7  ???

Don't give it up.  :'(

Concentrate on HS untill you can play them without thinking, (and I mean very fluently).

Then put them together slowly.  8)

EDIT: Also, this piece sounds good at any speed, so don't worry about playing it slowly at first.  ;D ;D
Thank you and Goodnight.

It is a great tune. I heard it only a few days ago and already I have been asking around for the music. (Thanks Pianochick93). It is my dad's favourite tune...I'll have to teach him how to play the piano before he can play the tune. LOL

I would have thought a Grade 6...

I don't think Michael Nyman would like that. He is still alive.

A tad random, but has anyone heard Nyman's Piano Concerto? It really presents the themes from "The Heart Asks Pleasure First" really nicely.

Why do you involve yourself in such things when you do not understand what we are on about? Just because people have different tastes than you doesn't mean you can annoy them.

If you play the piano a little, or you just like piano music, then one can really love this piece.

Woah - take a breath. Read back over the thread and you'll see that my inquiry had nothing to do with judgment, or taste. Usually on this forum when people are discussing a piece, they include a link so that all can appreciate the thread. All I was seeking was a link so I could hear this piece for myself since your praises tweaked my interest and it sounded like something I would be interested in. GWK - You certainly jump to conclusions.

Thanks for the tip. I found it on youtube and it really sounds like a serene piece to play to straighten ones head out.

5 for leisure?!

Wow, they have really changed their grading system. The notes are easy but bringing out the melody is much more complex. Grade 5 normal I can understand, but grade 5 for leisure is pretty much grade 4 normal, without so many scales and stuff.

My apologies. It was just the way you typed it, it seemed to sound sarcastic.
