Julian Scriabin

I didn't know this, but apparently Alexander Scriabin had a son (Julian) who was also some sort of musical genius but died very young. Does anyone know if we have access to any of Julian's compositions and has anyone here played any of them? If so, what are some good ones?

I've also heard his preludes (they're on naxos).
He certainly takes after his father. They sound like Scriabin senior's op. 15-25 style pieces, a bit chromatic, with lots of drama and contrast.
To think he was 11 when he wrote them is just scary. I'm sure if he'd lived long enough to escape his father's shadow he would have been brilliant.

Well, he does take after his father, who I believe wrote almost 10 of his early works before the age of 15. A lot of Scriabin Sr.'s early work drew heavily off of Chopin, but they are still good works and they pointed the way forward to the unbelievably good stuff to follow. It's a shame Julian died so young, as he would have probably written a lot of interesting music (like most of Scriabin's other followers like Roslavets and Bacevicius).

Hmm. Accrding to Wikipedia he died actually at the age of 11 in a boating accident. Drowned.. I'm sure he would have been a great composer too.
