How Many Hours Should You Practice the Piano? – The Lines Between Science, Method and Passion

It is a timeless question, a persistent voice in the mind of every pianist: “How many hours must I practice to truly improve?” It springs from a perfectly legitimate desire to measure the commitment required to transform our ambitions into sound, whether that means playing a simple minuet or dreaming of the world’s most prestigious stages. Giulio Cinelli from Pianosolo.it guides us through this classic topic. Read more

We are quite proud with the good progress my son has had with
the piano since he started playing in early 2005 at 9 1/2 years old.

He recently turned 12 and we would be happy for any advice or
comments on his performance of Liebestraume. We also would
like to request that the advice be simplified for a 12 year old who
is learning English as a 2nd language.

Many, many thanks in advance for helping with his learning! :)

You have all reasons to be proud!
The fire around 02:00 is excellent!
The balance between melody (bass) and accompaniment (treble) in the beginning is something he could work a bit with. The accompaniment should be softer.
Impressive progress!

Thank you, danilo :),

The advice is as concise and clear as can be.
Enzo has a tendency for a much louder and less dynamic
accompaniment and occasionally gets reminded about this.
He is working on this.

Thanks also for the advice on kv330! :)
