There are a lot of Hooters locations in my area, so I'm not complaining. According to wiki, there's only one in the UK, so it looks like you aren't so lucky.

Sounds like a damned good idea to me. Possibly a bit like T J Friday's with better dressed waitresses.

I hope more open in the UK as i don't really want to travel to Nottingham. The PC brigade will probably kick up a fuss.

Is it not already sad enough that McDonalds itself has taken off worldwide (including France, of all places)?

Ah, well - all things will pass.

Perhaps leonidas's interest in the phenomenon is aroused principally by the Hooters girl waitresses - and perhaps it might be as well that those waitresses be perceived by some people to have something to offer to offset the sheer boredom that is likely induced by the "food" on offer in those establishments...

The forum rules explicitly state no sexual content is to be posted.  How on Earth are you getting away with all of this?

If you are addressing me here, I must ask you what "all of this" represents in your question here; I referred specifically not to any content that I am personally introducing here but to a definition within that Wikipedia article on this so-called restaurant chain. When, in your view, did I introduce any "sexual content" and what precisely might it have been?

We have one where I live. But I don't really get the point of it; foods average at best, and the girls are too.

Very sorry, Alistair, I was addressing leonidas.  You posted while I was posting, it gave me the warning, and I paid no attention.

Leonidas's last threads have been on homosexuality, large breasts, age of consent, rape, and now hooters........I have been really wondering why he is not banned yet again.

Most regular guys don't go there for the food, but for something else. I know I did.

Perhaps becuse he can't seem to concoct a thread that amalgamates them all. Seriously, though, that's a matter for Nils. In the meantime, I'm busy yawning at the very thought of what he might come up with next (or at least I might be if I could care less)...

Well, never having visited a branch of Hooters, I cannot comment from a standpoint of experiential authority, but if what you suggest of the principle under which it works is indeed correct, it would appear that (a) I've not missed much and (b) even the ghastly McDonalds might even be one notch up from it.

If both Hooters and the kind of people of whom leonidas likes to post pictures happen to please leonidas, that's fine for leonidas, one may suppose.

Yawn...

Hooters of Pudong!!!

 ;D ;D ;D

Female employees are required to sign that they "acknowledge and affirm" the following:

My job duties require I wear the designated Hooters Girl uniform.
My job duties require that I interact with and entertain the customers.
The Hooters concept is based on female sex appeal and the work environment is one in which joking and sexual innuendo based on female sex appeal is commonplace.
I do not find my job duties, uniform requirements, or work environment to be offensive, intimidating, hostile, or unwelcome.

I just wonder how much longer this will go on for, and people's views on it, offensive, sexist? just a bit of harmless fun? dangerous?

I find it, foremost, as a casual observer, very amusing, but admit some concern, especially about the employees whom I hope do not feel bad about what they do.
Ist thou hairy?  Nevermore - quoth the shaven-haven.

Yes - and I'm a bus driver from Turkmensitan who nevertheless happens to be familiar with sufficient English to know that a certain word in the English language is spelt "sensitive".

It's a new word, because it surely can't mean what you think it should normally mean, given my personality!

I wouldn't want to be "given (your) personality" under any circumstances, preferring as I would the head of John the Baptist on a silver platter as in Strauss's Salome. I think that it is best kept to yourself, frankly. If you want to invent new words, first make sure that they have a connotation all their own and secondly try to do so à la manière d'Anthony Burgess, a past master at language expansion (some hopes!)...

Whatever you may have, I wouldn't want to "wrap" anything "around" them, frankly, so you would be best advised to offer such things to others that might appreciate them (if anyone)...

Yes, lots of them, actually - indeed even threads like this, because leonidas does not even argue, he simply makes - er - "points".

Anyway, can anyone enter any thread on this forum without seeing mention of God?...
