Yamaha C7 Transaction Prices in Southern US?
on: December 02, 2007, 08:19:59 PM
Hi, I am interested in a new C7, local dealer does not (never will) have one; says the list is $56000. I know they don't bring list, so what range should I be able to buy for (cash)?

Based on the latest Piano Magazine that I received from Japan, the C7 =2,940,000 yen, and C7A = 3,255,000 yen, in US$ C7= 26K, C7A=29K.

Of course, you have to add to the above price the shipping cost etc.

If you mention the above price to any US dealers, they will argue that the Yamaha outside of US are different from whatever got imported to US. The wood for US market is dried out more.

Let's use C3 as an example that I am very familiar. The Japanese price is about 17K, over here in the State  the price list is 44K, but you can easily get for 24K. So roughly, you can add the above price by about 10K. You should not pay more than 36K for C7 and 40K for C7A.

By the way, where in Southern US? If you are going to get from other State, the Yamaha dealer in Southern Calif, John Waltrip located in Arcadia is really reasonable.

Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for the info. We are in Louisiana.
Pianos seem to be similar to some other imported goods; sold as luxury items at inflated prices here, compared to their home markets.

In C7A, Yamaha uses the material that they use for their top of the luxury products line. I am not so sure that model (too lazy to go to Yamaha website).

The same in the upright version, there are U1 and YUS1. The YUS1 uses different material. I personally can hear the difference.
