GF, 88street > Da SDC?
on: December 04, 2007, 04:38:21 PM
true.  I had randomly left da SDC for a couple years and recently returned a couple months ago, and it has turned to sh*t.  Before, da SDC was a place for comedic genius, randomness and speed.  Now da SDC is nothing more than a smaller, less-effective version of gamingforce.  Administrators are getting on people for being "off topic", and back in the day anything that was on-topic was generally considered unlegendary.  Also randomly got banned for being "creepy" because the current owner literally makes a point of not trying to be funny, and of course did not understand the point of my topic.  95% of the activity goes on in the recording-trading forum, when before that was just sort of a side-project to being weird assholes to eachother.  Many of the "SDC Legends" have either been banned or mostly disappeared, such as da Zepp, da Zkep, da Mart, da jal, da robot etc. and now it's just a couple of the old members like Comme, zhreddah, catz and plastic, and then just a bunch of pianostreet-angry-pimply-teenager guys who have no sense of humor like jre3468396, and a bunch of noobs who don't even use da SDC lingo and who don't get the style of humor.  For instance, one person linked to the legendary Pokey the Penguin archives and abased it for being unfunny and random, when "random" used to be what we all strived for.

So my question is... if da SDC has just become a place for noobs with no sense of humor (pianostreet) and a place to illegally swap music (gamingforce), does that make it better than pianostreet or worse?

If it was so great at the time you left then why did you leave in the first place  ???

Is it just me or does that read almost like a post by soliloquy? (which, incidentally, has one less "l" than you give it)...

I was unbanned; the previous owner aka da Comme lobbied for it.

Haha, da skep is just pissed off at da sdc because he is hated there. And don't diss jre58591, that guy is a legend.

Ahaha true i am a bit pissed off, although I would prefer to be hated by the likes of jre aka you, subwoofah aka Jake, i_am_canadian aka douchebag etc. because they destroyed da SDC.  You speak as though it is unanymous, but more on that in a bit.  And JRE is definitely not a legend; pretty much every SDC member these days thinks they're a legend, but I don't see any of his topics in da Jackson forum.  I mostly just see him talking to the same three of four boring guys in the rec forum.  That's about as unlegendary as it gets.  And that's my point; before, in da SDC- CG > recs, now it's the other way around.  Disgraceful.

@Skepto,Solliloquy:

I'm not going to bother commenting on lies or the fact that you think most modern music is "esoteric for the sake of being esoteric", because it is both beside the point and so ridiculous it is self-depricating.  Ahaha and the furry porn was a one-time thing like... 2 and a half years ago.  I guess you are still emotionally scarred? 8)  Legendary.

As per the "rejection", I am proud to be rejected by canadian, considering he is the most unfunny person on that forum.  He doesn't even use SDC lingo.  If he didn't own the site now he would have been banned forever ago, despite the fact that he posts a lot of recordings.  The only people that like the canadian are people like you; the people that have lost their way.  If you were still the legend you used to be, then you would know that this whole thread was for CG purposes; instead you have become so mentally lazy and un-CG you think it's serious.  You are so un-SDC and un-CG you can't even tell what is and isn't CG any more.  It is just chance that the people I am rejected by happen to own the site.  The people who I'm not rejected by, such as Shreddah, Comme, Zepp, Mart, Rob, Jal, Koala, plastic, catz, krittyot etc. is the true backbone of da SDC.  Those are the legends; you are not.  You may used to have been, but now all you do is post music and detract lulz.  When/if comme or mart or zepp regain control of the site, you and jre and canadian and all of your zl*w pianostreet noob friends are f*cked.  Better hope that doesn't happen.

Ahaha "change your behavior".  Dayum.  Da SDC no longer appreciates humor.  You would prefer I did not release da CG.  Do not ever call yourself a legend again.  And don't insinuate I'm not a legend;  I have more posts and topics in the jackson forum than jackson or comme.  I even had my own sub-forum on there.  I used to respect you, but now... ur juzt a bit borin.

But seriously, the metaphor of himself being a conglomeration of automatons and comparing you to an individual can be construed two ways  ;D.

And don't get me started on the fact that he chose an animal for his metaphor...

If indeed "c'est la vie", this would surely discourage anyone from taking anyone else's advice to "get a life", would it not?...

Anyway, if "88street" is indeed > "Da SDC", just think how much > again "97street" would be...

Let me break it down for those who may still be confused about Da SDC. With the invention of the printing press in the early 1400’s, Western history changed radically.  During the Middle Ages, life was decentralized.  Every feudal community was different from every other.  In the arts, every mediaeval scriptorium had its own pictorial style, every scribe his own spellings.  Musical instruments were unique; swords were unique - many having their own name.  Kings ruled geographically separate bits and pieces of property all over Europe.  The printing press changed everything.  It allowed one person’s words or a single point of view to be repeated endlessly in exactly the same fashion.  Previously, oral transmission of culture meant that poets or preachers changed their tunes in every village.  Printing made books cheap and ordinary people became literate, acquiring knowledge more easily and a middle class arose.  With the printing press, “sameness” rapidly became a value.  Countries became contiguous areas.  The French king demanded citizens choose to be English or French. Communities grew into centralized nations with the same policies and a single ruler.   A single point of view arose in pictorial art also: the visual stance of 3-dimensional perspective.   No more large kings and tiny peasants to indicate social status!  In literature, spelling became standardized and literary forms with a single timeline developed:  the novel arose with a single point of view (the hero’s) and a beginning, middle and end.  In music, too, a desire for standardization appeared.  Instruments became standardized in form and sound and the orchestra developed.  Bach developed the key system, each key a single point of view.  “Wrong” notes became very obvious! Da SDC is a reaction to this: it represents the anti-Gutenberg Galaxy.
