Krystian Zimmermann...!

I also have a nice recording of Emmanuel Ax, performing on an Erard which is similar to the one Chopin owned... It's also nice...

What kind of tempo are you thinking of...? I don't like the one that is marked on my score..... 126, I believe it is... it's a bit to fast...

Martha Argerich... with a preference for her most recent version with the Orchestre Synphonique de Montreal and Dutoit. But the other version with the LSO is not too bad either. What do you people think of Perahia's version with the NY Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta ?

He recorded both concertos with Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, but also did the first one with the New York Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta again. Funny thing is that apparently the 2 recordings were released 6 months apart !

Lipatti (the REAL recording, not the Helena recording)
 Gilels (with Ormandy and Philly)
Polini (right after he won the Chopin Competition and before he got boring)
and second the Perahia recordings..probably the best playing I've ever heard from him.
