Boring mother at Xmas
on: December 10, 2007, 11:28:20 PM
Hi there...
It's almost Xmas time... And i'm going to have the tipical dinner with the all family...
My problem is that every year my mother wants me to play piano for the family... It's the tradition that I play some musics for them to enjoy...
What I hate most about it is that my mother doesn't let me play the musics I like... I have to play musics that I don't like, popular musics that everyone knows...
This year I don't want to play that kind of musics, but I don't know who to convince my mother to let me play my musics...
Can anyone help me??
Greatful for your help,
Marisa
ps. ...sorry for my bad English....

Try this, play what your mom wants you to play for a while and half way thru the peice stop and play your peice.

Seeing as xmas is a religious holiday I say shock her and play some crazy devil's music, that old jazz. Know any jazz?
You could always play that song "These are a few of my favourite things"
The jazz version is by mmm. not sure. but its cool.

I'm sorry Marisa, but no one can help you. Your situation is completely hopeless, and you simply must suffer. We can offer sympathy and support. Perhaps meet you in the chat room and let you complain to us on that day so you feel better.

My mother always wants me to play "Fur Elise", whenever I go there.
Once it's over she leaves the room.

Playing for relatives is a thankless and hopeless task.
I find having to play "get me to the church on time" to their drunken singing is painful to the extreme.
