I finally "fired" this family.  get this.  The dad and daughter were both studying with me for a couple of years.  So this week the dad says, well the little guy wants to take so if you wouldn't mind, we'll "rotate" and you will spend an hour here every week and we'll see who is available.  then the very next lesson he was not there and presented the kid for a lesson.  I am so p....o...

I don't totally get what you are saying, but good on you for putting the foot down.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

I don't quite understand what you're saying either. However, if you really don't need these students financially, and they're bothering you that much, then don't teach them.

Sorry I was so unclear.  Basically this dad who has been taking from me for two years along with his daughter who is 9 asked me to start their 7 year old.  BUT, they would still continue with two half hour sessions only.  Due to their busy schedule I would never know which of the three would have the two lessons.  So I said, no, I need there to be weekly lessons and have a standard of establishing practice etc etc.  Two days later I came to the house and the dad just went out and left the seven year old for his first lesson.  I had not agreed to this arrangement.  I hope this is more clear.  The mom said, well, I'll have "the Dad" call you.

I see.  Two lesson slots, three people.  No idea who shows up at lesson, which is chaos for lesson planning.  Plus students don't learn the discipline of regularly scheduled lessons.
