Question about a piece from "The Pianist"
on: January 02, 2008, 01:02:29 AM
Just wondering if anyone knows this...

In the movie "The Pianist", there's a very brief scene where Adrien Brody's character happens to be listening to a beautiful cello piece being practiced by an equally beautiful blonde cellist.  She was someone he had supposedly met before the Germans invaded Poland and fate separated them.  This particular piece is (I'm pretty sure) in Ab and its NOT on the soundtrack.  I've heard it before but can't remember its name or composer.

Does anyone know what I'm referring to and what it is ?  I'm sorry I can't provide more detail.

Can you post a link to it, perhaps from YouTube? That would help.

I searched YouTube without any success.  Its probably there under a title but since I don't know it...Besides, the movie is focused on piano music so I'm not surprised it wouldn't show up under my search criteria.

No problem though.  My teacher's son is a cello major at U of Indiana so I'm sure he'll know what it is once I play some of the melody for him.  I just thought maybe someone here might remember.

When I find out I'll post it here.  Then I'm sure all of you will say "oh THAT..I know that !"   ;D
