A little over 3 years ago I purchased a slightly used Roland RD-700. It sounded/responded absolutely fantastic for some time.
After a while I began to notice that the keyboard seemed to be uneven. It was very slight however, and I considered the possibility that I might be imagining it.
But it has gradually gotten worse and worse, and now there is no question that it is uneven. In particular the mid-range of notes is less controllable. Middle C often sticks out, and most of all the A above it. The A stands out quite harshly... striking the key with the velocity that would produce perhaps a mp-volumed sound on another note ends up being a painful FF!
The unevenness and this A in particular have made it so I can hardly stand playing the thing! I only use it to simulate an acoustic (I'm a classical pianist

). I know I should just get a real acoustic but I can't currently due to financial/space reasons.
I have been searching but can't find any info on this. I hadn't realized the digitals would require maintenance from regular and careful use.
I don't have much extra money at the moment, so I don't think I can afford to have it serviced... and purchasing a new instrument is currently out of the question.
So..... Does anyone have any Do-It-Yourself advice to fix this? Though I can't afford servicing, I could probably afford ordering some small replacement parts (such as contacts or whatever's in there) if they're not too expensive.
My friend and I are pretty smart and have opened up and fixed laptops and things, soldering in replacements parts.
But I have no clue what's going on inside this Roland and if there's an intuitive and cheap way to fix this uneveness.
Any advice?
