What's your favorite shape ?
on: January 05, 2008, 02:20:21 AM
I think that my favorite shape is a triangle.  I like it.  I like it a lot (Jim Carey voice in Dumb and Dumber).  I also like spheres and archs ... you know archs, curved "lines" with no closed shape.

*this little light of mine ... I'ma gonna let it shine*

At the time my favorite shape is the catenary arch

Isn't that a parabola? Or are they synonymous terms?

Wow, haha. I doubt m1469 was expecting so many of the same responses. But my favourite shape is definitely a womans body as well. Talk about geometry being fun:D

Perhaps both?

My favorite shape would have to be the human form of either gender. I just think the human body is wonderfully constructed. I especially have a thing for hands.

I think a circle (or a sphere) is a perfect shape. I like it a lot. If you think a little you'll see that circles are limited and infinit at the same time. I think it is a good description of our own universe.

Egg.  From one angle it's symmetrical.  From all other angles it's asymmetrical.  Very cool.

This reminds me of a youtube video I once saw where one girl couldn't even name how many sides a triangle had. First she guessed, 'zero?' then 'one?'

I didn't mean it as "shape", but as the complex that life has in our universe, that seems to begin when it is ending and vice-versa, as a circle can perfectly show.
It's something called 'eternal return'.
