Levels of pieces as stated on the site
on: January 18, 2008, 05:05:42 PM
Are the levels/difficulties given on this website in the piano music section actually at all correct because for example it says Schubert's Moment Musicaux in F minor op 94 no. 3 is level 7 and it is in the grade 6 ABRSM book, and it says Mozarts First Movement of the piano sonata in F major K332 is level 5 and it is in the grade 8 ABRSM book and is definately harder than Moment Musicaux! ??? ::)

They seem to be arbitrary levels designated by the administrators of this forum. Difficulty level in general is very subjective, but I certainly agree with the particular examples you cited.

There are several different topics on this already.
The levels are simply a rough guide, and though difficulty is subjective, most of the difficulty levels are roughly accurate.

Also the levels aren't properly accurate to any exam syllabus. What is approximately AMEB grade 5, is classified as a level 7 or 6 here on this website.
