hmmm... well, I am not a big juice drinker, even though I like it.  If I had to choose a favorite, it would probably be orange, with carrot as a close second.  If I were going to drink something everyday, it would probably be carrot over citrus.

In no particular order. Tropicana is expensive as hell though and its probably not PC to mention a brand here but meh.

If you have a juicer and can make juice fresh, my favorite is four golden delicious apples juiced with a quarter of a lemon.  Drink immediately while still gold colored--fresh apple juice is unstable and changes color quickly.

You still do your food shopping in supermarkets? I'm gradually giving them up for food shopping (yes, even the goodly Waitrose) in favour of a local farm shop that has almost everything I need on the food front except decent unsalted French butter...

I would do my food shopping in farm shops were there any in my area... being a non-driver who works scary hours, unfortunately I have to go for convenience rather than ethics, which is a shame but such is life.

Understood - and the farm shop where I go is about eight miles away. You obviously live in a town, as I do (or at least on the edge of a city in my case) and it would surely be next to impossible for a non-driver to live anywhere else. Are you a non-driver by choice or for any other reason? (you don't, of course, have to answer that and I am well aware that it's none of my business in any case). Quite a few people who live in towns and cities nowadays prefer not to drive unless they have to go to places they cannot otherwise go.

That said, I should admit that I don't do my food shopping at a local farm shop out of ethics but because the produce they sell is for the most part fresher, more often locally produced and of a higher standard than I can get at the best local supermarket and it's cheaper, too - so the reasons why I prioritise those things are sybaritic and economic rather than ethical.

It "rules" what, exactly?

When last I was in France, a friend gave me a bottle of cassis produced in a part of the Charente very close to where I was staying and where she lives; I was abit aghast at its rather high alcohol content (20% as distinct from the usual 15-18% for this kind of product), but I've never come across any cassis that bursts with quite as much rich blackcurrant flavour as this one does. My friend discovered it at a lunch party hosted by the local chasse (and, much as I deplore hunting as used to be done over here in UK, at least the French in that area hunt for food rather than pests) and she was told that it's sold at the local Intermarché, which fact should tell you something about how some of the French supermarkets have a localised autonomy on purchasing compared with our largely uniform centrally-bought Tesculture over here.

Do these many e's in this case signify a more significant or a less significant amount of actual alcoholic input?  ;D

No, they merely signify that certain Gravesenders (as distinct - well, partly distinct - from Eastenders) are not so very different from those Scots whom they pejoratively contend "will not drink anything unless it has a high alcohol content".

By choice... I had a few driving lessons when I was 17, didn't get on with the instructor and never went back to it. I've never had to, even if I wanted to - I'm very lucky to have excellent public transport in my area. While I was a student it didn't make financial sense to learn to drive, and once I went out and started earning I decided I'd rather have a deposit for a house than buy a car.

And... I've got very used to being a passenger! Being able to sit and read a book while commuting, or just sit and day-dream... it's nice!

I have trouble making sense out of the "juice" labeling; i.e., you try to buy a specific juice like cranberry but it's labeled "juice cocktail, at least 5% cranberry juice from concentrate and 3 other juices" ???

I saw pure cranberry juice at the store today.  Nine dollars for 64 ounces.  I will always wonder what it tastes like but I will never buy it.

I'm very lucky to have excellent public transport in my area.
Yes, I'd say that you are, if you do indeed have one; "excellent public transport" is gradually getting to be a thing of the past in UK, apart from the (mainly) low-cost domestic flights that have improved vastly since 30 years ago when one could fly from London to only a few places and that was it.

While I was a student it didn't make financial sense to learn to drive,
When most of us were students, very little made financial sense! - and it's surely far worse in UK now than it was 30 years ago.

and once I went out and started earning I decided I'd rather have a deposit for a house than buy a car.
That tells us all about the problems of living in this grossly expensive and overtaxed country; what an indictment to have to make such a choice!

And... I've got very used to being a passenger! Being able to sit and read a book while commuting, or just sit and day-dream... it's nice!
That has its moments, to be sure - although my usual experience of travelling by train is of other people frantically working at laptops and conducting business meetings via mobile conference call rather than just reading a book or daydreaming - a fact of which most employers are doubtless all too well aware! It's different on domestic flights, as the use of electronic gadgetry is obviously restricted and most domestic flight durations are under 100 minutes in any case.

You probably saw the real thing. Pure Cranberry or Pomegranate are the best for you (prostate, etc.) and are very expensive; but unfortunately, without the fructose and stuff they aren't as pleasant tasting.

I have learned to enjoy pure pomegranate, though it bothered me at first.  I like it a lot now.  I even consider it a treat.  Maybe one day if I get a financial windfall I'll try the pure cranberry.
