No. And the reason is that each teacher has its own personal ideas.
Teachers should provide more global advices and not focus on their particular technique they promote. What if you find a teachers that insist you lift your fingers high before striking the keys ala Hanon? A teacher like that would be like studying politics with a teacher that requires you to be republican in order to be well educated or respected by him.

Worse than that! It would be like studying construction with a 3 years old with his plastic hammer.
