A little bit of political fun..

It would be better if there was a fifth, "neutal" option on the questions, but it is mildly interesting nonetheless. I had no idea I was such a dangerous leftwing radical :) actually, I ended up at almost the same point on the compass as Gandhi.

And after the test, here is the presumed leanings of various composers..

I think I'm actually a lot more hardcore conservative than they say- their questions are a bit weird at times.
For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)

A true child of the 60s, I like to characterize myself, as a knee-jerk, bleeding heart liberal, especially when I'm around conservatives.

The Political Compass
Economic Left/Right: -3.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.15

I'm a little off center on the lower left side.  What does that mean though?  The test was long enough.  I'm not reading it all.

At least I'm over by Ghandi and the Dahli Lama.

Ok.  I read anyway.  I still don't quite follow what I am.

I remember seeing charts like this in Political Science class.  The prof said what the founding fathers were.  Does anyone know?

The Radical Left is awesome.  8)

As are llamas.

The Economic Left/Right tells you where you are on the old Left/Right scale, and I'm sure everyone knows the different values on both sides. That one should be easy enough to work out.

The Social Libertarian/Authoritarian tells you how willing you are to intervene in people's lives. If you advocate letting people run their own lives, free of government involvement, then you'd be libertarian. If you'd like government to control everything you'd be authoritarian.

A brief explanation, but hopefully enough. To give you an idea, Republicans would usually  be Right and Authoritarian. Democrats are actually fairly central in comparison to the UK, in theory they'd be Left and Libertarian.

Ron Paul (and Capitalism, in theory), of mild interest, occupies the Libertarian Right. Opposite to Communism, which would be occupy the Authoritarian Left.

I am pretty sure the US founding fathers were social libertarians and economically right wing.

Anyway, the politicalcompass site is probably biased since I almost always agree with their judgment.

Or they are real objective honest intellectuals.

Pretty much the same results as a year ago, my red dot is in about the same place.

I agree with dnephi, the questions are strange, and they seem calculated to produce a left wing slant.
